Same thing with Finns. I discovered Russell about five-six years ago, and no one here seemed to know who he was. Nowadays, every news story about him starts with “Katy Perry’s Ex” and the people writing those articles know nothing about his sense of humour so they create news about his tweets because they take them too seriously (and translate them word to word). They often get the facts wrong as well (articles like “Katy Perry’s ex writes a tell-all book about his marriage” that don’t mention he has already written two autobiographical books and that a third tell-all book would just continue the series). It annoys me because Finns quite enjoy British comedy but no one here seems to even know what he did before his marriage.
